Dear Fr Meaney
I am sending you a cheque for money which I raised with a small raffle that I organized on behalf of the Clean Water Project. I will be organizing another one soon to be drawn on Mother’s Day and I will send you all the money as I have done in the past. I would like to help as much as I can.

Dear Adrian
Firstly I want to thank you for the donation you sent to us. It was much appreciated because Christmas is a heavy time for us financially. There is always so much to do to make it a lively time for the children .

This year we have 45 children. Twenty three childre n , who are in reasonable health, go to the nearby primary school and they really love it. We have also built a small crèche for our 22 little ones and we began it with great pomp and ceremony last Wednesday. We are full to capacity but there is always room to squeeze a tiny baby into a corner somewhere .

I wish you many blessings for 2005 and I will keep in touch if I have anything interesting to send you. In the Lord,
Sr Dain Mary fdnsc, South Africa

A few lines to say ‘thanks’to you and your benefactors. We fixed our PA System, after consulting a number of people. Those who cannot fit into the Church, but must remain outside are now able to hear and already their participation is better. Thanks for assisting us with the use of Mass Media, by supplying finance for producing our CDs.

Dear Adrian

The Tsunami has brought in a number of urgent necessities. I am sendi an account of what I have done (receipts enclosed) So far the bulk of the help I have given has been simply in aid for survival buying clothes, cooking utensils, food medicines. But now there is another area coming up.

The Government now seems prepared to help build houses for the fishermen, but a number of them feel the sites are too far from the sea and hence impractical. We a re moving into this area. We are already committed to build five houses in very simple, traditional style — about $AUD4,000.00 each. Other needs are becoming clearer day by day. And of course, we always keep our eyes open for clean water needs.

Bula Vinaka Fr Adrian We are glad that we came to Fiji as the people here are so friendly to us. We have been to Mass at some villages with Fr Chris and some beautiful islands that the tourists never get to see. The building site is going OK; the rain is
a bit of a nuisance some times. We have really enjoyed our time here and have learnt a lot from the people – only hope they have got something from us, which I am sure they have, as they keep asking if we are coming back next year. We would recommend this experience for anybody who wanted to do something for someone else and broaden their outlook on life.
Thanks for the opportunity to come here. God Bless,
Mary & Bill Cox

Tsunami devastation
Dear Fr Meaney

My whole family cannot express in words our feelings for your great help when we lost everything because of the Tsunami. There are ten children in our family and eight of us are married and have their own family. They all earn their livelihood by fishing. Because of the tsunami no one was able to go fishing and we lost all our houses and belongings. When I gave them your gift of money and explained about it, I could see nothing except the tears f rom their eyes. So, Father to all your benefactors we are most grateful.

You are in our prayers for a long time,

Br Darwin MSC
